Feeds and recommendations
An app uses ranking rules to choose what you see: every post gets a score from likes, how new it is and what you watched before. If you know the rules, you choose for yourself.
Why
Why do you see different videos in your app from your best friend, even though you follow the same people?
There are far more posts than you could ever look at. So an app has to choose what goes at the top. It does not do that by chance.
It uses an algorithm: a fixed set of ranking rules that gives every post a score. The higher the score, the higher the post in your feed.
